Regulations for Submitting Abstracts and Presentation Forms

All conference participants planning to attend the Event in person are eligible to submit and present their selected abstracts. Once a submitted abstract is accepted for presentation, the submitting author/presenting author will be required to pay a registration fee, in accordance with the Participation Regulations.

  1. Registered Conference Participants may send abstracts only by electronic means. Abstracts of original papers in English will be assessed and qualified by the Scientific Committee for presentation in the poster session or oral presentation as part of the substantive program.
  2. Submitted papers must address one of the four main topics listed below, and when submitting abstracts, the author is required to indicate the main topic to which the paper relates (one of the four listed below in points A–D). Additionally, the author may further specify the issues addressed in the submitted paper within the main topic by selecting one or more specific topics.
    • A. Dams and reservoir safety management for people: dam safety assessment, inspection and monitoring; water management for people, drought and flood control; risk assessment due to climate and social changes; legal conditions and technical requirements for safe dams; tourism, irrigation and other benefits of dams and reservoirs; warning systems for dam surrounding; failures – lessons learnt.
    • B. Dams and Energy: pump storage plants – construction and exploitation; new technologies and solutions in waterpower; exploitation of dams for waterpower.
    • C. Dam Engineering and Construction: dam aging problems and solutions applied – case studies; construction repair technologies and materials; reconstructions, expansions and development of old dams; development of design methods.
    • D. Levees and tailing dams: levees and tailing dams monitoring and safety evaluation; design methods development for levees; tailing dam seismic resilience monitoring; slurry and water management.
  3. The abstract of the original work should be sent exclusively by e-mail to abstract@ecs2026.pl (via https://ecs2026.com.pl/), in the order described in the Abstract Template, while indicating its affiliation to a given main topic.

  1. IMPORTANT: Only registered Conference Participants who have paid the Conference fee will be able to submit and present their papers. After receiving notification of their abstract/paper's acceptance, the Participant is obligated to pay the Conference fee within 14 days of receiving notification.
  2. The abstract of the original paper cannot contain tables, charts, and figures.
  3. The abstract of an original work must contain the following information (according to the available Abstract Template): title of the work; full details of the person submitting the work (first name(s) and last name, email address, telephone number); first names and last names of all authors; full name of the author's institution (in English); keywords; abstract text (350 words).
  4. The submitted abstracts of original papers will be assessed by the Scientific Committee and qualified for oral or poster presentation:
    • Oral presentations: after acceptance by the Scientific Committee, in accordance with the subject of the report, individual papers will be presented during the appropriate thematic sessions; the time planned for the oral presentation will be given in the final announcement confirming acceptance of the paper.
    • Poster presentation: works qualified for this form of presentation will be exhibited on 42" screens throughout the Conference, and their presentation will take place during the Conference.
  5. The decision of the Scientific Committee regarding the qualification of the submitted work will be sent to the email address provided in the application file containing the abstract by 4 March 2026.
  6. Submitted abstracts of original papers cannot have been previously published or presented at other meetings, conferences, etc.
  7. The authors of papers submitted by students must include the Supervisor of the Scientific Club.
  8. The submitting author may submit more than one abstract.
